“In Miracle Land” by The Vines

Today’s Hear This! track of the day is In Miracle Land by The Vines.

The Australian indie-rock band were formed in Sydney way back in 1994. In Miracle Land is taken from their forthcoming seventh studio album, the name of which seems to be classified information. The chorus and title are apparently inspired by the Sega Master System game Alex Kidd in Miracle Land.

There’s definitely more than a hint of the Stone Roses to their latest track, blended together perhaps with the Beatles’ Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. And it all works rather well.

“Alex the kid in miracle land

Do anything when I think that I can”
